Picture this: water there when you need it April 21, 2021Connections Article, Publications Drinking Water Week is an annual opportunity for water professionals and the communities they serve to recognize the value of water that so many of us take for granted. This year, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is literally asking water enthusiasts to picture the many benefits that water brings to their daily lives. Picture, as in snap a photo and post it. To promote the May 2-8 Drinking Water Week celebration, AWWA is sponsoring a Drinking Water Week photo contest to heighten awareness of and appreciation for safe, sustainable and affordable drinking water. All you need to do is notice a moment when water is “there when you need it,” snap a photo, and enter the online contest. Points can be earned three ways and the winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card: Share your photo to your Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn account Refer others to the contest Follow AWWA on social media If there is a tie, a winner will be selected randomly from the top scoring participants. Entries may be submitted until 11:59 p.m. MT on May 8. The winner will be notified by May 14. AWWA has celebrated Drinking Water Week for more than 40 years. In addition to sponsoring the photo contest, AWWA offers materials including logos, graphics, children’s activities and social media posts available for free download.
