Adam Carpenter

Dr. Adam Carpenter is the Manager of Energy and Environmental Policy at AWWA’s Water Policy and Leadership department in Washington, D.C.  He serves as an expert and advocate on a diverse set of drinking water issues including source water protection, the energy-water nexus, cyanotoxins, climate change, consumer confidence reports, and other environmental policy concerns. Along with his colleagues, he works to further AWWA’s mission of supporting clean, affordable drinking water through sound application of science into policy, sensible regulation, public awareness, and building stakeholder consensus.  He holds a Ph.D. in environmental science and public policy.

Chris Moody is the Regulatory Technical Manager of AWWA’s Government Affairs office in Washington, D.C. He is a licensed professional engineer with more than 10 years of experience in environmental engineering performing planning, design, construction and operation of water and waste management infrastructure. He is a subject matter expert on technical and policy issues related to PFAS and supports manage AWWA’s policy portfolio for microbials and disinfection byproducts and other contaminants of emerging interest.

Kevin Morley

Dr. Kevin Morley is the Manager of Federal Relations for AWWA. In his role, he works closely with federal partners at EPA, CISA, FEMA, USACE, CDC, and the Water Sector Coordinating Council to enhance the security and preparedness of critical infrastructure. Dr. Morley’s contributions include expanding mutual aid through the Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (WARN) and developing standards and guidance on cybersecurity, preparedness, and risk and resilience management for water and wastewater systems.

Paul Olson

Paul Olson serves as the Senior Manager of Standards at the AWWA where he is responsible for leading the AWWA Standards Program in the development of standards for the water sector. He has been with AWWA since March 2000 and has managed the Standards team since 2009. He has expertise on AWWA Standards and Manuals and the topics that those publications cover, such as distribution systems, piping, valves, storage, and treatment systems. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado.
