ACE24: Your opportunity to help transform the future of water

Thousands of water professionals will unite to address global water challenges at the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) 2024 Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE24) June 10-13 in Anaheim, California.

ACE24 LogoAbout 10,000 attendees are expected at the 143rd year of the water community’s premier event, which will highlight the latest water sector advances, challenges, insights and best practices through workshops, tours, professional sessions, and experts presenting the latest in products and services. 

ACE24 highlights include:

  • An educational program with 18 tracks, 190 sessions and 719 presentations
  • An Exhibit Hall featuring more than 440 exhibitors and 1,090 booths
  • An Innovation Hub with insightful conversations about emerging technologies and trends 
  • Exciting competitions, including Pipe Tapping, Meter Challenge, Hydrant Hysteria, Top Ops and “Best of the Best” and “People’s Choice” Water Taste Tests
  • Opportunities for young professionals and students, including a career fair, poster competition, educational sessions and networking opportunities
  • Events and resources targeted for international guests

The June 11 Opening General Session will feature keynote speaker Pat Mulroy, a renowned leader and innovator in water management and policy. She will address the changing role of the water professional, especially in the context of climate change. Mulroy is former general manager of Southern Nevada Water Authority and a senior fellow at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

In context with the ACE24 theme of “Transforming our Water Future,” AWWA’s Water 2050 initiative will be discussed in education sessions focused on water infrastructure management, policy and utility management.
 
The keynote speaker at the June 13 Water Industry Luncheon is Robyn Benincasa, known as an inspirational force for leadership, teambuilding, and extreme performance. She is a veteran San Diego firefighter, a World Champion Adventure Racer, a 2014 CNN Hero, a Guinness World Record Endurance Kayaker, a best-selling author, and founder of The Project Athena Foundation.

As an example of its commitment to strengthening its sustainability, AWWA plans to showcase new actions at ACE24, including:

  • Donating exhibit materials such as furniture, household items and school supplies to the local community through a partnership with Honeycomb Strategies, Freeman, and the Anaheim Convention Center
  • Providing conference bags made from 100% recycled materials
  • Partnering with Alcymate to provide a carbon offset program allowing participants to offset travel to/from ACE24
