AWWA Student Chapters are located on college and university campuses across the globe and are a benefit of student membership. Learn how to connect with existing chapters or start a chapter on your school’s campus. Plus – find tools and resources for your student chapter here
Student Outreach Events
AWWA’s Young Professional Committee hosts student outreach events throughout the school year. We record these events and post them on our YouTube channel in case you missed the live event.

Start Your School’s Student Chapter
- Find out what the policy and guidelines are at your university/college.
- Contact your local Section or send an email to students@awwa.org to let them know your interest.
- Find a professor or faculty member to be your Chapter Advisor
- Recruit at least 4 other students (you need 5 student members to start a chapter) Make sure all students have AWWA student membership
- Sign up for AWWA student membership here
- Check AWWA promotions
- See if your Local Section has any student membership promotions
- Hold a meeting to elect your officers and fill out your bylaws & Petition
