Risk Analysis in Water Science & Systems

Topical Collection on Risk Analysis in Water Science & Systems
In a joint effort, AWWA and the Society for Risk Analysis are introducing a special collection in their respective journals, AWWA Water Science (AWS) and Risk Analysis. This collection will publish original, peer-reviewed research and review articles that examine the risks associated with drinking water systems and services. Key themes will include human health and water, engineering resilience, utility financial stability, and responses to natural disasters. By offering novel analysis and guidance, this initiative aims to deepen our understanding of these issues, leading to better-informed decisions and safer, more sustainable water in the face of wide-ranging emerging threats.
We particularly welcome collaborations between utility, public health, and academic researchers and concise case studies documenting real risk management decisions, their performance, and methods for improving them. Standard peer review applies across both journals, with accepted papers co-branded and co-promoted. The final collection will include all accepted articles from both journals.
Collection Themes
