You’re Invited: AWWA’s 2023 Drinking Water Week Celebration

This year’s Drinking Water Week celebration is May 7-13, an opportunity to celebrate the vital role water plays in everyday life for both water professionals and the communities they serve. Whether you’re new to the party or have been participating for years, AWWA invites you to join the decades-long tradition.

Drinking Water Week 2023 May 7-13, 2023 logoRecognizing Drinking Water Week is an ideal way to educate the public, connect with your community and promote awareness for the critical work that you do. Too often, water utilities are in the spotlight only when something unfortunate happens – a main break in the middle of rush hour or a boil water notice. Don’t miss this opportunity to highlight the many positive contributions associated with drinking water and water systems.

Materials for this year’s Drinking Water Week campaign – including 2023 logos, suggested social media posts, mayoral and gubernatorial proclamations, press releases and children’s activity sheets – are available to members to download in English or Spanish for free, with more assets coming soon.

AWWA also will be engaging members and water consumers – with a special effort to reach young people – through its Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram platforms.

For other celebration ideas, such as in-person community gatherings, art contests, or utilizing the opportunity to publicize the release of your consumer confidence report, visit the Drinking Water Week page.
