Join AWWA in celebrating Safe Drinking Water Act 50th anniversary

On Dec. 16, the water community will join together to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the landmark legislation that has protected public health and ensured access to safe drinking water for millions of Americans.

To celebrate this milestone and recognize the vital role the SDWA plays in our lives, AWWA is providing members with free downloadable materials, including:

• SDWA50 logo
• Social media graphics
• Press release template

These materials can be used to inform consumers, public officials and local media outlets about the Safe Drinking Water Act’s role in ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for all. They also highlight the essential role of water professionals in upholding the standards of the SDWA.

Beginning Dec. 9, AWWA will initiate a countdown to the SDWA 50th anniversary by sharing commemorative content across its social media platforms. Members are encouraged to repost and follow AWWA’s social media channels: LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram.
