ACE26 to celebrate water heroes

This year’s Annual Conference and Exposition in Washington, D.C., celebrates water heroes for their unwavering dedication to protecting public health.

From June 21-24, more than 11,000 water professionals from across the globe will gather to celebrate the people behind ensuring safe, clean drinking water and wastewater services.

An audience is seated in a large event space.
Attendees at last year’s ACE listen to the keynote speech.

“ACE is our opportunity to shine a spotlight on the people who keep water systems running every day,” said Joanne Gaglia, director of conferences and events at AWWA. “This year’s conference is about recognizing those water heroes and bringing the entire community together to celebrate their commitment to public health.”

This year’s programming includes more than 680 expert-led technical sessions categorized under distinct tracks, such as:

  • Advances in water treatment
  • Capital improvement projects
  • Focus on PFAS
  • Utility risk and resilience
  • Water education and the workforce

Additionally, specially-labeled “Focused Insights” sessions provide in-depth content and opportunities for discussion on a range of water topics. See the full ACE26 agenda here.

“The depth and breadth of this year’s educational program reflect the real challenges utilities are facing right now, from infrastructure to emerging contaminants,” said Dawn Flancher, director of technical, education, and research programs at AWWA. “Attendees will find practical, expert-led guidance they can take home and apply immediately.”

In addition to the conference programming, ACE26 includes an exhibit hall with more than 1,100 booths featuring the best water products and services in the industry, beloved competitions in pipe tapping and tap water taste testing, and networking opportunities to connect with peers from across the globe.

For hands-on learning experiences, attendees can participate in one of 9 pre-conference workshops or a facility tour at nearby Fairfax Water, WSSC Water Bioenergy Facility, or Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. Details about the workshops and tours are available on the website.
