AWWA delivering updated website experience, content for members
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is excited to deliver an elevated website experience to the water community this month.
The revamped awwa.org, scheduled to launch the week of Sept. 16, will offer online users the latest water-related information, showcase AWWA member benefits and initiatives, and feature a new, convenient purchasing experience.
The new website highlights AWWA’s purpose and promotes the essential work of its members through new and beautiful imagery. It includes a new eCommerce platform, store.awwa.org, where AWWA’s products, services and memberships can easily be purchased.
To ensure a smooth transition, elements of the site, including the e-commerce platform, will be unavailable for a short period. Users can expect the AWWA store and materials behind the current single-sign-on on the current website to be offline Sept. 12 until launch the week of Sept. 16.
“The new website design was driven by an extensive website user experience study with our constituents as participants,” said Cindy McCombe, AWWA’s director of marketing, business, and donor development. “We listened to our members. And we will provide an excellent user experience that is both informative and engaging.”
The new store website makes it easier to submit payments, including those for renewal, membership, or other outstanding bills. The event registration experience is also more streamlined. The member profile section allows users to view details of their membership, the events they’ve attended and past purchases.
As part of AWWA’s efforts to ensure its members’ privacy and information security, it is strengthening the security of usernames and passwords. Because of this, all users will be required to change their passwords for the new store. They will receive an email with instructions for resetting their password when the system is live.
“We have had a team of experts working hard on this for a couple of years now,” said Mike Hiskey, AWWA’s information technology director. “I’m proud of the work they’ve done. At the same time, I’m excited for this initiative to launch and for our members and other users to experience the new sites.”
