We’re seeking a team player who is resourceful and energetic, to provide exceptional service to AWWA users.  Our Lead Developer works with employees and vendors on business projects with a goal of developing and maintaining software applications that meet AWWA business objectives within IT architecture and processes.
   
Job Summary
Successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

Be responsible for the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): participate in the project planning, requirements gathering, architecture, design, prototyping, coding, integration, automated testing (AT), user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment/implementation, change management, maintenance and technical support, as well as creation of documentation in accordance with AWWA project processes.

Guide, mentor, and coach team members by providing technical expertise to developers in all technical aspects of variety of assigned projects to include diagnosis and resolution of technical issues; ultimately, determining both temporary and long-term solutions.

Qualifications
Education
B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.  M.S. in Computer Science or related field is a plus.

Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of professional, technical experience in a Lead Developer role OR
5+ years progressive experience in analysis, design, development, and deployment of enterprise and cloud-based systems including:

Proficiency gathering and translating business requirements into functional applications, primarily web-based applications
Proficiency creating technical designs using existing application architectures, and understanding its effect on maintenance and administration
Proficiency in security, password systems, certificates, secure transmission techniques, and encryption software

Technical Proficiencies required:
•  HTML and CSS (HTML 5 and CSS 3 a plus)
• Creating and consuming web services (SOAP/WSDL, REST, Web API), WCF, XML/XSL/XSD, X/HTML
•  MVC 5 and ASP.NET Core Frameworks. C#, ASP.NET, Visual Studio, AJAX, JSON, JavaScript and jQuery libraries, SQL (TSQL preferred but not required).
•  Version Control systems: Git and Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (former Team Foundation Server), Continuous Integration & Build Server.
• Various SDLCs, Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Hybrid)
• Adhering to usability, design and development standards as well as all aspects of unit testing, performance testing, debugging and user acceptance testing
•  MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

Experience working with the following a plus:
Microsoft Azure technologies such as Service Fabric, Container Service with Docker, App Services, API Management
Content management systems. DotNetNuke (DNN) preferred
Mobile web, responsive web or mobile applications
E-commerce applications
SpecFlow – VS extension for Automated Acceptance Tests
Reactive.js

Successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong communication and organizational skills; clearly able to explain technical concepts and make decisions with non-technical team members.

Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. Targeted salary range is mid $90k paired with comprehensive benefits package that includes:
Immediate eligibility and vesting for retirement savings plan with a 6% employer contribution and 3% company match upon hire
Generous time off including three separate accounts (Vacation, Sick, and Personal)
