Workshops - Monday, February 25, 2019

PC-1: Back to Basics, The MTC Primer

 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Back to Basics enables attendees to prepare themselves for the full MTC. Ideal for first time attendees and those new to the field of membrane technology, Back to Basics gives the audience exposure to membrane experts and knowledge in a focused forum.

PC-2: Integrity Testing: How Far We Have Come and How Far Could We Go?
8:00 a.m. - noon
This workshop allows for a deep dive into the real of integrity testing for membranes. Direct integrity testing is a proven, reliable method to measure the integrity of a membrane system, especially a hollow fiber membrane. This workshop provides the attendee with a detailed understanding of the variables which impact the DIT, an understanding of the applicability of DIT in various applications, and a future state visionary workshop on what the future of integrity testing could hold. This workshop is ideal for experienced membrane professionals seeking a refresher or a deeper understanding of DIT.

PC-3: Inland Desalination and Concentrate Management
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
This workshop will present material on inland desalination and concentrate management, discussing key issues involved with development of inland desalination facilities and the related concentrate management and disposal methods.  The workshop aims to aid utilities, industrial facilities, and other water users in evaluating or adapting inland desalination fortheir water supply needs.

PC-4: Membrane Operator Training Short Course – Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis (SCMA)
1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
This membrane operator training short course is designed for operators of nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems as well as those who are interested in NF and RO system operations. Attendees will then learn about (1) water quality, pretreatment, and post-treatment, (2) monitoring and control systems, (3) data interpretation, and (4) troubleshooting, and (5) chemical cleaning.
