STUDENT/YOUNG PROFESSIONAL SCAVENGER HUNT
10:00 - 11:30 a.m. 
Here’s a fun way to meet some of your peers and explore the Exhibit Hall at the same time. Your team will be challenged to navigate through exhibitors to find clues to be eligible to win great prizes. The Scavenger Hunt will end at 11:30 a.m. at the Expo Café inside the Exhibit Hall. Look for the Student/YP event signs. 

LUNCH WITH THE BOSS: A STUDENT AND YOUNG PROFESSIONAL LUNCH MEET-UP
11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Specifically Designated Area
in the Expo Café in the Exhibit Hall


Talk with a general manager of a water utility, a principal in a consulting engineering firm, the head of a manufacturing company and/or a USEPA regulator at this low-key lunch meet-up. This is a great opportunity for you to get face-time with water industry leaders. Registration is not required. Just show up! 


LIGHTNING SESSION: FRESH IDEAS POSTER PARTICIPANTS
3:30-5:00 p.m. 
Join the best and the brightest from AWWA’s Sections for this new, fast-paced lightning session featuring the Fresh Ideas Poster participants. These students and young professionals won their Section poster competitions to attend and compete at ACE18. Presenters will have 3-5 minutes to summarize their posters at the podium prior to the poster competition. Come support these impressive water professionals and explore a wide range of water industry topics and challenges.

John OHurley

Award-winning actor John O’Hurley has catapulted into one of Hollywood’s most versatile stars, with accomplishments ranging from Broadway star to game show host to New York Times bestselling author. O’Hurley is best known as “J. Peterman” on Seinfeld, which is now the No. 1 syndicated show in the world. John won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his work on Seinfeld and went on to earn multiple advertising and marketing industry awards when he helped finance the relaunch of The J. Peterman Company. His versatility as both an entertainer and businessman continues to be the focus of many features in magazines such as Business Week and Time Magazine.

As one of the most recognizable voices in entertainment, his is the voice of many animated characters, such as King Neptune, SpongeBob SquarePants and the Mayor of Disney’s hit Phineas and Ferb. He is best known for his performances as King Arthur in Monty Python’s Spamalot and his portrayal of slick lawyer Billy Flynn in the legendary Broadway production of Chicago. O’Hurley has been the regular host of NBC Sports “The National Dog Show presented by Purina.” A self-taught pianist and classically trained vocalist, both of his albums “Secrets From The Lake” and “Peace Of Our Minds” have reached the Billboard charts.

In 2012, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in recognition of his accomplishments in the Arts and Philanthropy.

FULLER AWARD BREAKFAST

AWWA annually presents George Warren Fuller Awards to the AWWA Sections’ selected members for their distinguished service to the water supply field in commemoration of the sound engineering skill, the brilliant diplomatic talent, and the constructive leadership that characterized the life of George Warren Fuller. Two complimentary tickets are available for Fuller Awardees and their guests only. Tickets are for purchase for everyone else. 

 


 

AAEES/AWWA LUNCHEON PRESENTATION
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 
Mandalay Bay Convention Center – Palm D

This annual luncheon celebrates the partnership among AWWA, and the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES). This year's speaker will be Mr. David Rexing, the Manager of Water Quality Research and Development for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA). Mr. Rexing has almost 50 years of experience in water quality analysis, bench and pilot plant testing, and water treatment process optimization. He has served on numerous AWWA committees, divisions, and councils and currently serves on the Water Utility Council and the Board of Directors of the California-Nevada Section. With the AWWA Research Foundation, he has served on the Research Advisory Council and various Project Advisory Committees.
