EL11 - Hydraulics
Course Length: 8 Hours / 0.8 CEUs*
Course Description: This course provides a foundation in hydraulic concepts, calculations, and operational uses. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to understand and use such calculations as for specific gravity and density, pressure and force, horsepower and efficiency, and more. This course is suitable for entry to intermediate-level operators.
- Apply the concepts of specific gravity, density, pressure, force, horsepower, and efficiency in calculations.
- Understand how piezometric surface and hydraulic grade line are used in water supply operations.
- Understand the concept of head and head loss and use them in calculations.
- Calculate flow in open-channel and closed-conduit by using tables, nomographs, and discharge curves.
