Facilitation Fundamentals for Public Service Leaders Certificate Program (EL270)
Certificate Program Length: 8 Hour / 0.8 CEU*
Course Description: This self-paced course will cover the basics of facilitating a variety of meeting types and give the learner the confidence to have successful outcomes for their agency and employees with inclusive participation at their meetings. This training consists of 4 modules each with videos, case studies, articles, reflection and self-evaluation. Each module is designed to be completed in approximately 90 minutes to two hours.
Local government leaders are called upon to work with a variety of groups and individuals. In any one day, they can be called to run a community input meeting, review specifications from a consultant, give feedback to a new employee and assure a resident that their water is safe to drink. Each of those encounters require that the leader have a variety of skills and knowledge from which to draw on to facilitate the best outcome in each situation. The public sector provides unique challenges in meeting facilitation.
