Course Description This course provides you with an introduction to the concepts, chemicals, equipment, and processes associated with coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation as practiced in conventional surface water treatment. It is recommended for entry-level operators.
- Describe how the coagulation and flocculation processes work, including basic chemistry, chemicals used, equipment, and facilities.
- Analyze the water quality parameters and operational issues that affect coagulation and flocculation, as well as the tests available to operators to optimize these processes.
- Evaluate the operation of the sedimentation process.
- Optimize your operation of enhanced coagulation and enhanced softening, including the goals, side effects, and operational issues and concerns of each.
