This standard pertains to ductile iron pipe sizes 3-in. through 54-in. for flanged pipe with threaded flanges for water or other liquids. The flanged pipe is rated for a maximum working pressure of 250 psi (1.72 MPa). The current standard is a revision of ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15-83. Major revisions in this edition of the standard include elimination of gray-iron pipe (it is no longer being produced) and addition of the requirement that the name of the country where the flange is cast be stamped or cast on each flange. Other changes include addition of the option of casting flanges with grade 60-42-10 ductile iron, deletion of appendix B (metric conversion tables), and addition of metric conversion factors to Tables 15.1, 15.2, and A.1. References to standards of other organizations were updated throughout the standard.
