Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing and faxed or mailed to AWWA. Phone cancellations are not accepted. All cancellations postmarked/fax-dated by January 17, 2020 will receive a refund, minus a 25% administrative fee. Cancellations post-deadline will not be refunded; however, substitute registrants are welcome, if pre-approved in writing.

The Potable Reuse Symposium will focus on innovation, key questions, challenges, solutions, and areas of acute interest most relevant to the advancement of potable reuse.The Symposium is designed to engage attendees not simply as listeners in the audience, but also as active participants in facilitated discussions. A post-symposium facility tour is also available.

Note: The Potable Reuse Symposium is February 10-11. The co-located Biological Treatment Symposium is February 12-13.

Shoal Creek Filter Plant & F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center

The tour begins at Gwinnett County Shoal Creek Filter Plant's (SCFP) ozone disinfection system, sized for 1-log removal credit of Cryptosporidium using three 2400 lbs/day ozone generators, a sidestream injection downflow tube ozone dissolution system, and two 1 million-gallon serpentine baffled contactors. SCFP also houses two pilot plants used to conduct applied research and to optimize treatment processes. The tour then travels to F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center, one of the largest ozone and membrane wastewater treatment facilities in the world, with the ability to process up to 60 million gallons of wastewater per day. The facility includes traditional wastewater treatment processes followed by chemical clarifiers, ultrafiltration membranes, pre-ozone, biologically active carbon filters, and final ozone to produce very high-quality reclaimed water that is returned to Lake Lanier, the water supply for Gwinnett County and many other Atlanta metropolitan communities.
