This complimentary course defines the AWIA requirements for community water systems and introduces all utilities to the standards and resources designed to improve resiliency and manage risks for all-hazards. 

 

EL261 | Security Practices for Operations and Management

This course demonstrates how water and wastewater utility participants can integrate security and preparedness into the culture of their organization.

 

EL262 | Risk and Resilience for Water & Wastewater Systems

The course will begin with an overview of the seven steps of the J100 process and then explain how to perform each step. Participants will learn what types of output to expect from a J100 risk and resilience assessment and how to use the output to lower risk, enhance resilience and support AWIA requirements.

CE Credits

CE Credits are required to renew licenses. States and provinces use different labels, but AWWA awards CE Credits. AWWA provides forms for students to calculate PDHs.

A certificate from AWWA does not guarantee that a student possesses a minimum level of skills or knowledge regarding the subject matter.

Completion Timeline

You will have 90 days to complete a self-paced course(s) once the course has been started. Facilitated courses have a set begin and end date with weekly assignments due that count towards course completion.

Continuing Education Units

You may be awarded AWWA CEUs/PDHs for this course by your licensing agency. AWWA grants CEUs for this course at a rate of 1 CEU for 10 contact hours. It is your responsibility, when taking any training program, to contact your licensing agency beforehand to confirm that the coursework:

  1. Meets all requirements so that you will be awarded continuing education credit towards your license by your licensing agency.
  2. Meets all requirements for certification.
