Covid-19 Guidance

American Water Works Association is excited to plan for upcoming 2021 specialty conferences. 

AWWA continues to be committed to protecting public health and will follow all safety measures based on CDC, state and building requirements. Please check back at this page often for updates related to the possible impact of COVID-19 on AWWA specialty conferences.

AWWA Current Transfer & Refund Policies

AWWA’s first core principle is the protection of public health. This principle informs our actions during normal times and especially during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

ATTENDEES

For attendees canceling due to COVID-19, AWWA will apply 2021 paid registration fees to the following year's conference. A refund of dollars paid will be processed upon request. AWWA shall not be liable for any expenses incurred. To apply for the transfer or refund of fees submit your cancelation request in writing to service@awwa.org

EXHIBITORS

For exhibiting companies canceling due to COVID-19, AWWA will apply paid booth fees to the future year's conference. A refund of dollars paid will be processed upon request. AWWA shall not be liable for any expenses incurred. To apply for the transfer of fees submit your cancelation request in writing to exhibitormail@awwa.org.

SPONSORS

For Sponsor companies canceling due to COVID-19, AWWA will apply paid sponsor fees to the following year's conference. A refund of dollars paid, minus a 25% administrative fee to cover expenses related to the sponsorship will be processed upon request. AWWA shall not be liable for any expenses incurred. To apply for the transfer of fees submit your cancelation request in writing to exhibitormail@awwa.org

Health & Safety of Attendees

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AWWA has been making the necessary adjustments to plan our events to ensure participant safety is our top priority. Together with our partner convention centers and hotels and 
in consideration of guidance and information shared by the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other leading organizations and experts and local government requirements and guidance. we are planning for the following:

  • Required physical distancing
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Mask wearing
  • Waiver review and release required to obtain attendance

AWWA COVID-19 Requirements and Release

Enhanced Safety and Health Measures:
Attendance at or participation in AWWA Conferences is subject to the release below, and compliance with AWWA’s and the conference and event facilities’ policies and procedures to implement  current CDC and applicable state’s recommendations, which  includes, but are not limited to, wearing a mask, physical distancing, retreating immediately if feeling unwell or showing certain symptoms. 

Release:
I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless AWWA and its affiliates, including their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, and/or representatives, from any claim or cause of action, including all liabilities, penalties, losses, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind, arising out of or relating to exposure to COVID-19. I agree that the foregoing release, discharge, and covenants apply even when AWWA or its affiliate directly or indirectly caused injury, losses, or other harm related to COVID-19, whether by negligent acts or omissions, and whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any AWWA (or affiliate) program. This release is binding on my heirs, administrators, executors, successors and assigns.
