Dive into a wave of opportunities at ACE22, the water community’s premier event May 4, 2022Connections Article, Publications Thousands of water professionals will take a deep dive into water's most pressing challenges and innovative solutions at the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) 2022 Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE22), June 12-15 in San Antonio, Texas. After two years as an all-virtual event, ACE22 returns to an in-person and online format with the theme, “Inform. Influence. Impact.” Register now to attend AWWA’s 141st premier water conference, learn about best practices and connect with global water experts in every segment of the water community. ACE22 highlights include: A professional program with 16 tracks and 88 sessions An Exhibit Hall showcasing more than 360 exhibitors and 950 booths An Innovation Hub showcasing smart technologies and cutting-edge solutions to protect the world’s most important resource Exciting competitions including Pipe-Tapping, Meter Challenge, Hydrant Hysteria, Top Ops and Water Tasting Opportunities for young professionals and students, including a career fair, technical sessions and networking opportunities Specific events and resources for international guests Six hands-on, pre-conference workshops and tours New this year, AWWA will stream content from select tracks and sessions for online participants. For those attending in person, a mobile app is available for quick and easy access to agenda items, networking opportunities and Continuing Education Credit check-in. The June 13 Opening General Session features scientist Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), whose team discovered water on Mars. He is the associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate and will discuss with AWWA CEO David LaFrance how he works to ensure that NASA’s science missions build partnerships across disciplines, including the water sector, to help advance knowledge and exploration. ACE22 will also formally launch AWWA’s Water 2050 initiative to collaboratively move the water community forward by envisioning the future of water and charting a course for success and sustainability. Young professionals will set the tone in a video during the opening session titled “The Future We Create.” Other topics on the agenda include the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, cyber and data security, 21st century infrastructure, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and managing lead and copper under the LCRR (Lead and Copper Rule Revisions).
