AWWA/AMTA Membrane Technology Conference & Exposition postponed to July 2021

Call for abstracts reopens

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) today announced that the Membrane Technology Conference & Exposition (MTC) has been postponed from March to July 19-22, 2021 in West Palm Beach, Fla. This postponement is due to the continued public health concerns and meeting restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Membrane Technology Conference is recognized as the premier technical and networking event to learn the latest developments in membrane technology and explore new trends in water and wastewater treatment technologies, desalination and membrane bioreactor applications.

Presenters interested in sharing their knowledge at this conference can submit an abstract by Nov. 19. Visit the conference website for details on registration, submitting an abstract, the technical program and exhibiting.

“The Membrane Technology Conference & Exposition is an important moment for top experts to share knowledge and explore cutting-edge water treatment and sustainability technologies,” said AWWA CEO David LaFrance. “We are hopeful that by summer, public health conditions will improve, and we can proceed on-site in West Palm Beach.”

“With the ongoing pandemic, we are hopeful that a move to summer programming will enable AMTA and AWWA to host the first-rate conference the industry has come to expect,” said AMTA Executive Director Deena Reppen. “MTC is the nation’s foremost convening of membrane professionals and we look forward to a return to gathering in-person for top-quality networking and knowledge exchange.”

In the event an in-person conference is not advisable in July 2021, AWWA and AMTA will create a first-rate virtual event at a similar time. In 2022, AWWA and AMTA intend on hosting the Membrane Technology Conference as an in-person event, February 21-24 in Las Vegas.
