AWWA presents at international water leadership conference

Representatives from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) received recognition and presented about water quality at the 2019 World Water Leadership Congress & Awards held last month in Mumbai, India.

Nilaksh KothariNilaksh Kothari (pictured at left), a past president of AWWA and member of AWWA’s International Council, was recognized as one of the 51 Most Impactful Leaders in Water & Water Management by a panel of experts. He is CEO and General Manager at Manitowoc Public Utilities in Wisconsin. His award was accepted in his absence by Shirish Kardile, former chair of AWWAIndia’s Strategic Board and international member of AWWA.

AWWA opened AWWAIndia in Mumbai in 2015 to support the preservation, management and distribution of clean water throughout the country, and to leverage AWWA’s deep experience in water management to improve public health, protect the environment and strengthen the Indian economy.
