The referenced standards project is being considered for approval and the publication of this notice begins the 45-day public comment period for AWWA and ANSI. SCOPE This standard describes the requirements for composite polyethylene–aluminum–polyethylene pipe (hereinafter referred to as PE–AL–PE) in metric nominal inside diameter (ID) sizes 12 mm (½ in.) through 51 mm (2 in.). The pipe described by this standard is intended to be used for potable cold water supply outside buildings as buried water main and service pipeline. MAJOR REVISIONS Major changes made to the standard in this edition include the following: 1. The UV resistance code information for PE compounds have been updated and include reference to ANSI/AWWA C901 requirements. (Sec. 4.2.1) 2. Guidance information on fittings has been moved from the foreword (Sec. II.B.3) into the body of the standard as requirements. (Sec. 4.3.4) 3. Plant access requirements regarding proprietary processes have been clarified and updated.
