Abstract

Water is our most valuable resource, but according to one estimate, the United States uses twice as much water per capita than any other country in the world and has been using more than 400 billion gallons of water per day in recent years. More than a quarter of the total water used in the United States is withdrawn from California, Texas, Idaho, and Florida. This article discusses how this limited resource is allocated.
