Partnership For Safe Water

Optimizing water system operation is the goal of the Partnership for Safe Water. Program participants perform self-assessments of their water treatment plant and distribution system using proven tools to determine their optimization status.

The Partnership includes two programs, the Water Treatment Program and the Distribution System Optimization Program. Access them using the links below.

Partnership Approves New Award Level

The Presidents Award recognizes plants that meet the Phase IV individual filter turbidity goals. Monthly individual filter turbidity less than 0.10 NTU 95 percent of the time based on values recorded at 15 minute time intervals.

Robert Cheng, Steering Committee Chair, says, “This award is for plants meeting the very stringent requirements for Phase IV individual filter performance. Any plant working toward the Excellence in Water TreatmentAward should find this recognition important as a key milestone in their quest for full optimization.”

This award represents a logical step for those plants who have achieved Phase IV individual filter performance criteria but may have more work to do in completing the Phase IV Excellence in Water Treatment Award application.

Applications for the Presidents Award are now being accepted. All plants must register to apply for this award. Register, review the guidelines, complete the application checklist and submit your application as instructed.
