Throughout 2010 Louisville Water is celebrating it's 150th anniversary. Since it's founding as Kentucky's first public utility in 1860, Louisville has seen it's water tower destroyed by a tornado, survived multiple floods, served as a cholera-free headquarters for soldiers who were headed overseas for WWI, pioneered research on water filtration, and won AWWA's 2008 "Best of the Best" water taste test. It's an astounding record, and we'd like to offer congratulations to Louisville Water for their success in offering their community this safe and reliable service over the past 150 years. If you live in Louisville, or are planning a visit, be sure to check out some of the activities planned to run throughout the year.
