Use of AWWA Logo

The logo's use in connection with Association affairs is encouraged, but because of the requirements of trademark law it is mandatory that any planned usage of AWWA's logo be submitted for prior review. Please send inquiries to the Director of Publications at AWWA headquarters.

The logo file at right is available for sections' use. To save the image file for later use, right-click on the image and select "Save Image As" (or "Save Picture As" if you use a Netscape browser) and choose the location on your computer's file system where you want to save the file.

There are new standards that dictate how the logo should appear and how it can be used. AWWA cannot authorize any alterations to its logo. The Signature Use Guidelines PDF file explains the basic principles that must be followed.

Use of AWWA Member Logo

The AWWA Governing Documents, Article XIX, Section 19.2.2(3), states ". . . individual and organization members do find occasion to exhibit notice of their membership in the Association on letterheads and other printed matter, the Association has developed a special membership mark for such purposes. This mark or the printed notice Member American Water Works Association may be used only by a member in good standing on his/her letterhead, business card, and other literature, provided that the statement reflect accurately the membership status. For example, a partnership or corporation must not claim membership on the basis of the Active Membership of one of the partners or a member of the staff involved. A partnership, municipality, or corporation that carries a membership in its own name may -- and, as a matter of fact, is encouraged to -- advertise that membership where and when it sees fit. It may not be used for product or service endorsements."

Using the member logo in connection with the principles outlined above is encouraged, but it must always be used complete with the accompanying logotype "AWWA member" and the registration mark. The standards that dictate how the logo should appear are shown in the downloadable Signature Use Guidelines PDF file.
